Visualizing the value of reporting

We’re working toward raising our subscription and retail rates for the newspaper. More on that later.

As a part of that process we’re reminding ourselves and our readers of the value of what it is we do, through a series of house ads that focus on some aspect of the paper’s production and economics.

This was the reminder in this week’s issue:

Well-meaning people tell us all the time that they had no idea how much goes into producing a newspaper every week. I’m not sure what they imagine, but it’s definitely not a whole team of people carefully shepherding each news story through this process.
